PRO SURFER IAN WALSH AT HOME WITH HIS DRYAGER CABINET
Red Bull Athlete and professional big wave freesurfer Ian Walsh is best known for his world-wide escapades riding the biggest waves in the world. You can find him surfing his home wave Jaws in Maui, or globetrotting around the world to West Africa all in the quest to find the best wave, as seen in Episode 4 of the HBO Original four-part series Edge of the Earth.
During his down time, Ian loves to cook and shares his home recipes with his fans on his YouTube channel - Kitchen Captain. In Ian’s most recent episode, he tries his hand at dry aging and cooking a 21-day aged Prime bone-in Ribeye steak in a wood-fired oven. As he says, Ian goes back to his “caveman” roots and walks us through how he takes a 21-day aged ribeye (check out his Day 10 update here), breaks it down to a manageable 3-finger-thick steak and creates the perfect seared crust.
Click to watch Kitchen Captain - Ian Walsh’s full episode and follow along as Ian prepares and cooks a 21-day dry aged steak from the comfort of his home. He describes how dry aging in his UX 500 resulted in a steak that “cut like butter, was way more tender, way more flavorful” and was “take-your-breath-away good.” For Ian, the result tasted like a ”legit steakhouse” and the fact that you can mimic this experience from your own home is “incredible”.
